McKey
Alvey

McKey first put on a GI in January of 2011. After having been training ‘MMA’ for four years she was frustrated by and surprised at the world of sweeps and submissions. She started training as often as she could under Professor Ricardo “Pantcho” Feliciano. A career in modeling quickly took her away from southern California, but she trained at academies in New York, Paris, Sydney, Wisconsin, and Illinois, making sure to let her instructor in California know of her progress. Life went on to bring her back to California when she married Sam Alvey in 2013. She was able to resume her training under Pantcho. Despite welcoming three children between 2013 and 2017, she received her purple belt under Pantcho in 2016 after getting gold and silver in her first tournament at blue belt. In 2018 she started training under Joe “Daddy” Stevenson and received her Brown belt in 2019 after getting silver in the Paris Open in 2018, gold and silver in NAGA San Diego 2018 in gi and no-gi (respectively), and getting double gold at SJJIF Worlds 2018. She also enjoys training with and helping coach her husband and 5 children. McKey is currently a two stripe brown belt and head Jiu Jitsu and Woman’s Jiu Jitsu coach at Checkmat BJJ Mt. Juliet.
